Hello Raven Families!

I would like to first welcome back all returning Raven families and give a big WELCOME to all of our new families. I am humbled to serve as your PTA President for the 2023-2024 school year. The Rice PTA is looking forward to making it another fantastic year with all of you!

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
My husband and I have been married for 18 years and we have two children, Berlin, age 14 and Devon, age 21. Berlin is in 8th Grade at Rice and Devon will be a Junior at Baylor University. I’ve served on the Wyatt Elementary Board for five years and have served as VP Ways & Means, VP of Programs, Communications Chair, Girls Social Chair (multiple years), Socials Chair, and served on many more committees. For my real job, I serve as the Executive Director at Project Access-Collin County and my background is in Non-Profit Management.

WHAT IS THE PTA:
A volunteer group dedicated to supporting our school by providing additional resources to our students and staff.

Through your membership dues and generous donations last school year, Rice PTA funded:
• Four Teacher Luncheons

• Curriculum Improvements

• Educational Enrichment Programs
• Teacher Appreciation and Birthday Gifts
• Wellness Week Activities
• 8th Grade Celebration
• Fall and Spring Socials for Rice Students
• Outdoor Beautification
• Scholarships
• Red Ribbon Week Activities
• Reflections Contest and Awards
• Teacher Grants
• And much, much more!

Because of you, last year the Rice PTA was awarded:
• Good Standing Award (at least 50 student members), 

• Student Membership Award (at least 50 student members), 

• Men are Really Super (MARS) (at least 50 male members) award,

• Head Start Award(75% of the previous years membership by August 31st).

I would love to see the Rice PTA receive many more awards this year, such as:
• Voice for Every Child Silver Award (75% of the school’s total enrollment),

• Golden Apple Award (100% staff membership)
• Shining Star Award (100% of previous year membership by December 31st)

We can do it Ravens!

Even if you can’t volunteer, everyone can play an important role in making our PTA a success, even if it is just as simple as becoming a member!
