To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
To promote and speak on behalf of children and you in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
Our Purpose:
To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship;
To raise the standards of home life;
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth;
To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth;
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
You are the most important partner in the educational development and success of your student. As a member of the PTA your participation helps create and foster the best environment for educating your student.
Anyone can join our PTA - parents, grandparents, extended family, community members, teachers and even students. It's an easy and inexpensive way to support the students you care about in your life and in your community.
Increased membership diversifies PTA; providing varied skills and ideas that benefit all students. Member input enables us to improve how our PTA enhances the learning experience for all students.
For each PTA membership at Rice, $4.50 goes directly to the Texas PTA and National PTA.
Why should I join the Rice PTA?
When you join the Rice PTA, you join a community that encourages student achievement and believes in building partnerships between families and school. Membership has many benefits:
- Your child can apply for a Scholarship from Rice in 12th grade if you as a parent have been a PTA member for two years at Rice.
- Your child can participate in Reflections art contest.
- Your child can participate in after-school programs and social events at a reduced cost.
- You will send a clear message to your child and our community that you value education.
- You get connected with teachers, staff, other parents and other students, the BEST way to learn what is really going on at Rice.
- You can gather and share parenting information with other parents and teachers, people who really care about raising kids in today's world.
- You have a voice in how the PTA prioritizes its goals and spends its limited resources. Only members can vote and hold a Rice PTA office.
- You get access to our online directory, so contacting fellow parents and students is much easier.
- You get access to the members-only sections of the Texas and National PTA websites.
- You get to take advantage of great discounts from many companies like Hertz, MetLife, Office Max and T-Mobile.

If I join the PTA, do I have to volunteer?
No! Joining the Rice PTA does not mean that you have promised to volunteer. Members are not required to meet any kind of volunteer commitment. Please don't let your concern about volunteering keep you from being a Rice PTA member!
JOIN THE RICE MIDDLE SCHOOL PTA FOR 2024-2025! 
Support Rice Middle School students and teachers by showing that you value your child’s education by joining the PTA. Your membership helps pay for student programs, parent education programs, teacher resources, student socials, and so much more! While we encourage you to be involved however your time and talents allow, joining PTA does not obligate you to volunteer. It’s simply the easiest and most affordable way to be involved in your child’s education. As a benefit to members only, you will have access to an online directory as well as PTA member discounts.
This year we are striving to have one member of the PTA for every student of the school. By joining, you are helping us give every child a voice on issues directly affecting their school experience. Please help us reach our goal!
Single Membership is ONLY $20.50 for the ENTIRE 2024-2025 school year, and additional adults in same household only $8.50. Student's can also be members for only $8.50.
