What makes our PTA great is all of the wonderful parents and community members that share their time with Rice throughout the year. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in terms of time commitment, time of year commitment and project scope so we are confident that there is something for everyone’s skills and schedules.

On the check list, you'll see jobs that can be done at home or after hours to accommodate working families, parents with young children at home, etc. We encourage you to sign up to do a few things throughout the year.

Time To Update Your Volunteer Credentials

Plano ISD is excited to announce the launch of our new volunteer management system, VOLY, for the 2023-2024 school year. The new system is now live and can be accessed at pisd.edu/volunteer.

Before you are able to volunteer at Rice, you MUST complete your volunteer application, online orientation (very quick) and criminal history check.

These three requirements must be completed annually to be eligible to volunteer in Plano ISD. All volunteers new and old must register with VOLY by creating a NEW account. Go to pisd.edu/volunteer and follow the directions in the Quickstart guide. It only takes a few minutes!
